An execution by guillotine described in 1818

The execution of a Jew by guillotine - I assume - is described here. Note that the Jews accompanying the man "carefully removed ... even the smallest traces of blood" - to bury with the body.

  3. According to Wikipedia, in 1818 Colmar was part of France (until 1871) and the capital of the Departement of Haut-Rhin.

But guillotines were also in use in Germany:

  5. They didn't consider it murder but justice. Those were different times, hard to imagine today except for states like Iran or China.

    Oh, that murder.
