Rare books rare no more

As one of the proselytizers for the utility of the internet for high quality research, I enjoy finding references in literature to the unavailability or scarcity of a book or other resource which anyone can now access with total ease in their own home, or sitting on a park bench.

Below is a footnote from a 1969 article called The Strange Case of Moritz Spiegelberg by Phillip F. Veit, in the Germanic Review, 44:3 (1969:May):
