CR Sacks was 43 in 1991 when he took the position. Several others were around that age. They may have had an age requirement, as I know they certainly did when they were looking mid-19th century. It makes sense, since if you find the right guy you'd like him for 30 or 40 years instead of 10 or 20.

ReplyDeleteHa. My guess is that it was just a bad photoshopping, ie, the 1912 version of photo editing.
