In the days before Lindsay Lohan, newspapers used to print interesting lectures delivered by various learned scholars.
In a move not likely to be replicated today, the Boston Globe (February 4, 1888) printed two long newspaper columns on the Emden-Eybeschutz controversy of the 18th century. The lecture was delivered by Rabbi Solomon Schindler.
